About this website

This website is not funded by politicians or organisations, grants or schemes. It isn't a campaign and it isn't accepting any donations. It is a request from a born-and-bred resident of Darnall, operated at a loss from somewhere on Staniforth Road, and was inspired after witnessing the much more tragic loss of 16-year-old Abdullah Yaser Abdullah al-Yazidi, as well as all the other unnecessary losses Darnall has suffered over the years.

All timeline images have been taken from news articles or public social media profiles. The intention is for this website to become a memorial to every person who has lost their lives from a preventable death in Darnall, as well as residents of Darnall who died preventable deaths outside of Darnall. Eventually each incident on the timeline will have a dedicated memorial page containing a biography of each victim, higher quality images, and a request from the family (such as specific prayers to read, or a charity to donate to on behalf of the deceased). Note 1: Although every effort has been made to research all preventable deaths after the year 2000, the timeline still doesn't include all of them, especially those before 2008. Some I am aware of and need more information on, and some I might not be aware of at all. If you know of any preventable deaths after 2000 that are not mentioned above (things like road traffic collisions, murders, suicides and accidental deaths), click here to let me know so I can look into them. Unfortunately I cannot cover illness-related deaths, including those from cancer, due to how many people in Darnall have passed away from these and the much extra work they would involve.
